“My prediction is that we’re going to ingest information. You’re going to swallow a pill and know English. You’re going to swallow a pill and know Shakespeare.” Consumate predictor Nicholas Negroponte shared a rather pequliar prediction concerning technology and learning for the coming 30 years.
A number of hardles need to be solved to realise this technology (e.g. how to encode language knowledge in a pill, how the brain actually works and stores info, etc.), yet it is an interesting talking point. What would the role of the teacher be in this future? Would teachers become obsolete? What do you think?
