A new model for digital storytelling – A new idea for course design?

A study published on the International Journal of Emerging Technologies in Learning proposes a new model for digital storytelling. The model enables the design and the execution of educational stories for preschool children. Stories are seen as sequences of missions: game experiences where children can interact to reach the educational objective. I think that the model can be adapted for older pupils and help teachers bring into their stories a real world element.

Currently I am running a blended learning course on digital storytelling with a great team of trainees and I was searching for ways to create a second, more advanced course on the same topic. The article “A Cultural Re-mediation Model for Storytelling in Pre-school Education” by Nicola Capuano, Angelo Gaeta, Matteo Gaeta, Giuseppina Rita Mangione, and Anna Pierri is a good resource for me to start!
